Additional charges overview

Every septic system and situation is unique and costs of services will vary. Your level of service depends on how well the tank has been maintained in the past and the level of difficulty to access your septic tank.

Liquid overages

If your septic tank looks like this when we open the lid, then you are overfull. This means that there is an issue beyond the septic tank causing it to be full above it’s normal operating level. When a septic tank is overfull we are actually removing up to 1.5x the normal wastewater capacity of the tank. So YES, it is sometimes necessary to remove 1500 gallons or more from a system that has a 1000 gallon tank or 2250 gallons from a system with a 1500 gallon tank. You will be notified immediately before proceeding if we encounter these circumstances. Liquid overage charges are as follows:

  • 1000 gallon tank liquid overages $147.00

  • 1500 gallon tank liquid overages $217.00

  • Extreme liquid overage situations will be evaluated and quoted on-site.

Excessive Solid Waste

The number one cause of septic failure is lack of maintenance. It is comparable to changing the oil in your vehicle’s engine. If you don’t change your engine oil then you are guaranteed to have issues that lead to engine failure. The SAME is true with septic systems. If you don’t regularly maintain your septic tank then solid waste and sludge will accumulate and failures will occur that will require extensive extra costs and eventually system replacement. We recommend that newer systems be maintained and pumped out every 3 years even if you are not experiencing problems. For systems older than 15 years we recommend pumping every two years. Systems that are 30 years or older that are still functioning should be maintained and pumped EVERY YEAR for maximum functionality as they reach the end of their expected life cycle.

When we encounter situations as pictured above we have to apply additional charges for the labor to break up and stir the solid waste accumulation so that we can remove the waste with a 3”diameter vacuum hose. Also, it takes much longer for the vacuum truck to completely empty your tank in these situations and it puts extreme stress on the vacuum pump, truck and equipment. Excessive solid waste charges are as follows:

  • 1000 gallon tank with excessive solid waste $147.00

  • 1500 gallon tank with excessive solid waste $217.00

  • Extreme excessive solid waste and trash situations will be evaluated and quoted on-site

Access to your septic tank

  • Ready access

Ready access to a septic tank requires no excavation and no additional labor to locate the tank.

  • excavation

Georgia code requires a septic tank to be accessible within 12 inches from the surface of the ground. Excavation services will be necessary to locate your septic tank to gain access if there are no access risers present. Standard excavation & locating fees apply.

  • excessive depth excavation

In some cases the septic tank is much deeper in the ground than normal, requiring additional crew and equipment time. These situations will be evaluated and quoted on-site.
